The beginning of a nursery rhyme was stuck in my head “Fishy fishy in the brook” when I started sketching. I had to actually google the rest of it so I could get it out of my head. My husband likes to say this one whenever we eat fish or sushi. Here is the whole poem:
Fishy, Fishy, In a Brook
Fishy, fishy, in a brook
Daddy caught him with a hook
Mommy fried him in a pan
And baby ate him like a man.

One response to “Fishy Fishy In The Brook”
I love this. Fishy Fishy In a Brook was a nursery rhyme my mom often sang to my girls. When she laid in the hospital a few years back after several strokes, she was unable to speak. In her last days, as we were all gathered around her in the hospital, one of the kids tried to remember this, she suddenly shook her head no, and sang this rhyme to us! Its a special treasure always. I love that you illustrated over the page. 🙂
