In church this morning, we of course sang America the Beautiful.  This line “O beautiful for patriot dream, That sees beyond the years” stuck with me. 235 years ago people – patriots – had a dream for America, for freedom. It is amazing how far we have come. And yet when compared with some other countries, we are a young country. I hope that as a country we can look at other countries’ histories and our own, and not repeat past mistakes. But look at the good and cultivate it. I wish everyone a very happy 4th of July, be safe while celebrating, and thank you to everyone (past and present) who have kept our country free.
