The Best Thing

The Bellair Craft Fair was wonderful! What was it that was so great? Was it the weather? Absolutely not, it was freezing. And Sunday was colder than Saturday. On Sunday I actually had on socks and tennis shoes (those that really know me are in shock – I really only love wearing flip flops), jeans, long sleeve hoodie shirt, polar fleece vest, jacket, scarf, and gloves (thank you Suzanne*). Then I bought a hat. Then I bought a scarf. Yes I was wearing two. I only warmed up when the clouds moved out of the way of the sun. Then there was the wind, the very cold wind. The very cold wind that blew all the pollen around and made me sneeze. It also kept knocking down my Scrabble Tile Display, jewelry stands, signs and framed quotes. That’s what really did me in, and I ended up leaving a little early. So, if anyone showed up to see me after 2pm, I apologize.

So, the best thing were the people I saw. I loved visiting with the ladies I network with in GPS, the people walking around enjoying themselves, the pooches that were taking a stroll with their owners. I saw a Pugh that was striped like a zebra! I love spending time with Suzanne. She has no idea what a great friend and what help she is. Thank you for feeding me Suz! Then there was the Susan look-a-like on Saturday. In fact, on Sunday when I was in search of hot chocolate, I saw her again. I went over to tell her how much she looked like my friend Susan. Sitting next to her was someone that looked just like Susan’s daughter. Then I saw the sign that said, Designs by Becca. Ha! It was Susan – not a look a like! Yea! I haven’t seen her in about 4 years. Her granddaughter was there too helping out at the Girl Scout booth. The last time I saw her, she was half the size she is now. It was great chatting with them.

But like I said, I decided to pack it up. Because the wind was so cold and knocking everything over. Then as I am working away, I look up and standing in front of me was my best friend from college, my matron of honor at my wedding, Donna. And her mom. Thank you mom for bringing her to me. It’s been over ten years since I saw her. She moved off the midwest somewhere and I moved up the reservation. We had lost touch for a while. Thanks to Facebook we found each other again, but hadn’t been able to connect in person, even though she had moved back to the valley. I was so joyful to see her and still am. Looking forward to seeing them next weekend at the Holiday Fair at 67th Ave. and Cactus this Saturday, Dec. 4th. (Yes, shameless plug. I promised mom I would get the word out this week.)

Thank you everyone that showed up despite the cold! I appreciate it! And this Saturday – it’s indoors.

*Suzanne’s name has not been changed – lol – she’s my best friend!
