National Scrapbooking Day – May 1st!

You mean there’s a special day for scrapbooking? Why yes there is! It’s reserved for the first Saturday of May. National Scrapbook Day was started back in 1994 by the well-known album company Creative Memories.  Scrapbookers all over the county celebrate their passion for Scrapbooking on this day.

So what can you do to celebrate?

1. Go to a crop, of course! Most scrapbooking/crafts stores will be doing some sort of special event to commemorate the day.

2. No store nearby? Then host a crop at your house and invite your scrapbooking friends over for a great time.

3. Go out and take photos to scrapbook later.

4. Take a few minutes and organize your photos.

6. Don’t feel like hauling your stuff to go scrapbooking somewhere? Then go shopping. Retail therapy is great stuff! Go buy some new paper or other supplies.

7. You say you don’t need another scrap of paper…well then, how about a new tool? Didn’t you say you wanted a Cricut?

8. Learn a new technique. You can find them in magazines, stores and online.

9. Be brave – submit a layout to a magazine.

10. Share. You’ve spent so much time on your scrapbooks. Share them with someone. Let that passion shine!
