Greetings everyone! I know it’s been awhile since my last post. I have been busy organizing the studio, creating a Facebook Fan Page (check it out, just search for Somewhither Arts on Facebook), got started on Art Fire (visit my Art Fire site at www.artfire.com/users/somewhitherarts), and I am suppose to be able to integrate all of these things and my blog. So, that is taking some of my time away from creating at the moment.
On the upside, the great commissioned piece for a wedding that is taking place in October is done. I must say I love the way it came out, although at first I was not sure with the colors that were requested. It’s fun and funky just like the receipents that will be receiving it. I can’t wait to share it with you, although I will not be able to post it until November. Another commissioned piece is being started today for some new parents. Also getting ready for the Holiday Expo that a group of us are putting on. It will be the first weekend in November. I give kudos to Debbie Davis who really took the reigns to get us all together for a great cause. More information will be coming out soon.
Here’s a painting, so you would have something to look at in this post. The above oil painting is one that I did for my husband’s best friend and best man – Bo Reed – at our wedding years ago (1996). I came up with the idea for the painting based off a poem that Bo had written. It is very large, although I can’t remember the dimensions off the top of my head at the moment. It’s a shame that you can’t see all the detail that is actually in the painting. Until next time!
