This is my newest creation straight from my art journal (or sketch book as I call it most of the time). I had an orange-red page for quite some time, not sure what I was going to do with it. I had spent about a month with a back that just wasn’t happy (lots of pain). So when it started getting better, I was so excited and my creativity that had been seriously lacking, started back up. I was ready to add layers to that bright page. And layer I did. Pen, paper, pencil, paint and repeat.

I used paper scraps, left over paint, a left over “b” from my Grandma Barbara’s scrapbook (I used the capital B in that), even a random rub-on that I cut out from some package. I was being creative again and it felt good. This year, I also vowed to use more of the supplies I had on hand – use up those scraps, left over ribbon, and what ever else I find. I have a lot sequestered in this studio.

On the back, I wrote: When the well of pain has been removed the soul can flow and the spark of creativity can ignite.

B Creative. Mixed media (paper, ink, paint, pencil, pen, cord, found objects and rub-on). 5.5″ x 8.5″ (14 cm x 21.6 cm). 2015.
