It’s always a sad day when it is the death of your furry friend. The one who has been there to give you unconditional love and support. Distracting you from your worries and soothing your stresses. For some, they are not just pets, but family. My friend and her daughter recently lost their beloved Chewy. Here is a poem that my friend wanted to give her daughter with a photo of their dog. I took it a step further. I wanted to give them a memorial that would last. I am sure I will be seeing some tears later on today.

A DOG’S THANKS

I know you’re feeling sad,
But there’s no need to be,
We’ve had a good life together,
You’ve been a good friend to me.

Some would say, “He’s just a dog.”
But I know you don’t believe that,
You’ve kept me safe and happy
And warm and dry and fat.

I know my time had come
And know that you did too,
Please don’t think you did me wrong,
You did what you had to do.

You may be feeling guilty,
That my life is at its end,
But please don’t feel that way,
Through memories,You’ll always be my friend.
